WW I soldiers ?

Hello,

Does anyone know of a list of soldiers of WW I that were NOT casualties ? I'm looking for information on a family member Heinrich J. ARMBRUST born about 1885 who was a soldier in the German Army. I believe he was from Altona (Hamburg) and emigrated to the USA in 1926. If not a military record perhaps some other record of this family member of mine ?

Is there a listing of WW I soldiers of the German Army ?

Hi Bob,

The casualty lists of WW I are currently digitalized (16 percent is done so far) and you may find traces of Heinrich there - if he was injured or (temporarily) missing in action. Take a look:

Nachname = surname
Vorname = christian name
Ort = place

I believe he was from Altona (Hamburg)

Ich habe den Heinrich Armbrust aus Wattenheim für Bob nur als Such-Beispiel genommen
(= just for example), weil bisher kein Eintrag zu seinen Angaben paßt.

Schon klar, aber Bob schrieb ja auch:" I believe he was from Altona (Hamburg)", da kann man auch andere Möglichkeiten in Betracht ziehen. Wenn ihm die Eltern seines Heinrich bekannt sind, weiß er ja nun, ob es seiner ist oder nicht.

Hi Bob,
in the casualty list 1917 there is a Heinrich Armbrust from north Germany, but he was born in 1897:
- Armbrust, Heinrich - 21.1.1897 Warstade (21745 Hemmoor) - bisher vermiißt, laut privater Mitteilung in Gefangenschaft. (Verlust-Liste Nr. 1574 (09 Aug 1917).
