    Recently I learned that some of my ancestors came from East Prussia from Virballen, Wilkowischken, Suwalki areas). I looking for any information about people: PORTOFEE, GOEHRKE, SCHMIDT, BERLINER.

    I send your informations to some friend, who are seeking in this aeria. Doris wrote already to you and Alwin wrote this:


    "Die Zeit vor 1844 in Wirballen habe ich auch nicht gefunden. Die römisch kath.
    Kirchenbücher dort sind nicht bei den Mormonen zu finden. Er müßte
    zur dortigen Kirchengemeinde der r-kath. Kirche. In Goldapp könnte
    er evtl Glück haben. Dort gibt es bei den Mormonen folgende Kirchenbücher
    und Suwalki gibt es ab 1793. Die habe ich damals nachgeschaut aber nur meine Namen
    rausgesucht. Seine vorkommenden Namen habe ich hier so nicht."
