Church Records in Warbende

Does anyone know if there are birth records available for Warbende for the period of 1813-1814? The years 1775 thru 1835 are missing from the films of the Mormons LDS...

Thanks,

Dabney :)

Hello Dabney,

the Lutheran church-registers of Weggun 1693-1958 are including Warbende, maybe all years. You can contact:

Ev. Zentrum Berlin-Brandenburg-schlesische Oberlausitz
Georgenkirchstraße 69/70
D 10249 Berlin
phone 030 24344-0
fax 24344-500

Kind regards
Detlef

Thank you Detlef! Is there any hope that they will do research for you? Sadly, I can not go to Germany myself and must rely on what I can gather long distance and on the internet.

Warbende is included church to Weggun, but not in the church register Weggun. Warbende is partially included in church register Parmen.
The church archive is Bethaniendamm 29 in Berlin.

Hello Dabney,

my info is from an official site in www, but maybe Peter has better personal experiences; as far as I can see, Parmen/Weggun is only available 1850-1874. Why don't you send a letter (in English language and in German language by translation program) to Ev. Zentrum? Address your pointed questions and beg for further advices if they do not possess the records.

Kind regards
Detlef

That is a good idea, Detlef. The website for church archive Bethaniendamm 29 in Berlin states that they do not do research for individuals, you must go there and do your own research. That leaves me out of luck. I hope to have luck with Ev. Zentrum.
Many thanks,
Dabney

Just an update... I e-mailed EZA Berlin and received the following response:

in unserer Kirchenbuchstelle befinden sich fast nur Kirchenbücher evangelischer Kirchengemeinden in den ehemaligen östlichen Kirchenprovinzen Preußens, die heute zu Polen, Russland oder Litauen gehören.

Auskünfte zum Verbleib von Kirchenbüchern aus anderen Landeskirchen können wir leider nicht geben. Bitte wenden Sie sich an das zuständige landeskirchliche Archiv. Für Parmen und Warbende ist dies das Folgende:

Landeskirchliches Archiv Schwerin
Postfach 11 04 07
D-19004 Schwerin
Tel. 0385 / 200 385 - 50
Fax 0385 / 200 385 - 66
kirchenbuchamt@ellm.de

So now I have e-mailed the Landeskirchliches Archiv Schwerin. That was a week ago. They are not responding so far :-(
