Franz Führen geb. 1860 Duisburg und sein Vater Franz Führen geb. 1844 Angermund

    My Great-Grandfather Franz Führen was born in Duisburg Hochfeld in 1860. I know this because it is mentioned on his death certificate in Eschweiler in 1924.


    I am trying to find out who his parents were.


    He married his wife Henrietta Schneider in Eschweiler in May 1885 but the very helpful registrar in Eschweiler has not been able to find the marriage certificate which would give the names of both sets of parents.


    Any help would be appreciated

    Is there a population census for Duisburg between 1860 and 1885? I think Great-Grandfather Franz must have left Duisburg by 1885.

    Thanks to Marcus I think I have found the birth of Franz Führen's father, also called Franz Führen, on 14 September 1844 in Angermund, Rheinland. If so, his father was Wilhelm Führen and his mother was Charlotte Fischer.


    Can anyone help me to confirm if this information is correct?

    I think Franz Führer is not born in Angermund. I can not find him in my list.
    But it may be that his birth was registered in the civil records of the mayoralty Angermund if he was born in one of the many small villages around Angermund.
    Unfortunately I do not have this records.
