Origin And Meaning Of Family Names – Wabnitz & Splettstoesser

Hello,I am tracing my German roots and looking
for the name origin and/or name meaning for WABNITZ and SPLETTSTOESSER.

Hello Henry,

Wabnitz is determinating the local origin of birth which is the village of Wabnitz/district town Oels/Silesia/now Poland (634 inhabitants in 1933). Polish name: Wabienice.
Splettstoesser is a north German occupation name meaning merchant dealing with chipped wood, firewood, clapboards.
