Hello, I am searching for Karl Friedrich Simon born August 10, 1849 in Aalen, Württemberg. His parents were Johann Jakob Simon and Marie Magdalene Vollmer. US census records show here being from Austria/Bohemia. He emigrated to the US, to New York and arrived on December 30, 1869, and departed from Bremen. His name in the US was Charles Simon. He enlisted in the US Army on June 21st, 1872 for five years. He married Mary Elizabeth Moore in 1888 in the state of New Jersey. Any help in finding additional information on this family would be greatly appreciated. He was my great grandfather.

what makes you sure that the one from Aalen is the same as the one who was living in NJ?

As far as I see, Charles who was married to Mary Elisabeth Moore was born abt 1852/56 in New Jersey, his father in Germany and his mother in Austria/Bohemia.
