FN Zschetzschingk

    Familie Zschetzschingk in Freyburg, Saschen, Preußen 1827-1834. ist jemand vertraut mit dieser FN? vielen danke.


    Is anyone familiar with or have heard of this surname? Does it sound like "Schatzen", or English Canadian "Chatson". Thank you.

    Zschetzschingk looks like anywhere written like spoken :S
    so looks like a "germanized" slavic name..... Č sounds Tsch

    This surname also appears in Adressbuchs, Bürgerbuchs, etc. in Leipzig, Dresden, Erfurt and Bad Langensalza. Also in Strasbourg, Alsace-Lorraine, France. In Kanada it became Schatzen and then Chatson. See details in pre 1919 military thread- Officer documents ca. 1877.

    i would see no connection, the one looks most to be a germanized slavic name and the other is clear a german one.
    Zsche sounds like Cze in Czech....
    otherwise it must then be a wild misspelling if would have been once Schötensack...
    my opinion....
    how said would guess most for orgin about Sorbs in the german areas.
    and germans also came into Alsace - this would be the route i would most guess.


    tipped the name into Ellisisland and got this similar list. there also some who could have a connection.
    we know Ellisisland has MANY misspellings too, as people who wrote the lists had often no knowledge how to write some names of Europe.

    Ich stimme mit Ihren Kommentaren. Zschetzschingck ist wahrscheinlich eine alte Deutsch Nachnamen mit slawischen Ursprungs. Älteste Online-Aufzeichnung Ich habe gefunden ist für Wolfgang Zschetzschink, Rentmeister in Altenburg bei Leipzig. Zeitraum von 1556 bis 1629.
    Ich habe eliminiert "Schötensack" als Version von "Zschetzschingck".


    Mein UrurGroßVater auswander nach Kanada in jahr 1864. Keine schiffe liste. Sein name- Frank Schatzen (Chatson in Englische) geboren 1834 in Bad Tennstedt bei Erfurt. Die 1826 Adressbuch für Stadt Erfurt erfasst Herrn Maximilian Ferdinand Zschetzschingck, Kaufmann, geb. 1802 in Bad Langensalza. Ich glaube, er ist mein Vorfahr, aus vielen Gründen.

    Aber noch einmal, muss die Familie in den östlichen Regionen des alten Preußen oder slawischen Gebieten stammen.

    Du könntest genauso gut in Deutsch hier schreiben. :thumbup:
    Es gibt deutsche die machen einige Schreibfehler, die ich bei dir nicht finde.
    Nur manchmal eine Kleinigkeit bei der Satzstellung, aber das ist bei mir umgekehrt bei meinem Englisch manchmal genauso, weil ich es oft so mache wie im Deutsch (Gewohnheit).
    Auch habe ich nicht viel Möglichkeit mehr zu üben.
    Aber verstehen kann uns beide jeder - dort wie da - und das ist die Hauptsache! :thumbsup:


    after seeing this similar names at Ellisisland i guess how said now more that the name would have the ruthenian orgin in the past and got germanized in Prussia.
    did you search more in Erfurt - the one born in 1834 and the other you guess for ancestor too born 1802 - to come more back in the family or finding connections?
    were they evang. luth. or roman.cath.?

    ich habe das kirchenbücheintrag für mein UrurGroßVater. Geb. unehelichen, Ev. Luth. 23.09.1834 in Tennstedt (heute Bad Tennstedt) Kreis Langensalza, Provinz Sachsen. Taufzeugen war Oberfeuerwerker Franck aus Berlin und Hoboist Krumpholz aus Hildesheim. Bitte lesen Sie meine Nachricht in militärischen Teil, vor 1919, "Officer Records ca. 1877".



    meine 3xGroßMutter Maria Catharina geb. Becherer 1804 in Mühlhausen\Thür. Verheiratet mit Johann F. W. Götze in jahr 1824. Götze, Kaufmann in Tennstedt, gestorben November 1833. Maria Catharina wurde schwanger sehr bald nach dem Tod ihres Mannes. Der Kaufmann in Erfurt (jahr 1826) Maximilian Ferdinand Zschetzschingck war geboren 1802 in Langensalza. Vielleicht Zschetzschingk ist der Vater dieses Kinde namen Frank Schatzen geb. 1834??? (Ich habe noch andere Hinweise, die diese Theorie unterstützen.) Das ist das Geheimnis. Diese Städte-Langensalza, Erfurt, Tennstedt, Mühlhausen-- sind nahe beieinander. 20 und 30 Kilometer.


    Ich habe Mikrofilm von Mormon Bibliothek bestellt , um zu versuchen, meine Theorie zu beweisen.

    the "tyrolean" name is think Tschötschen, but do not find that there is a connection to the name you looking for. i find also not very similar.
    also no idea were are from really. more from kuk-Empire-time with another orgin.......how it often was......guess.
    as example next link stated Svppan is Suppan/Supan a slovenian name. no idea why stated tyrolean as has not any connection.
    Voitsberg is styrian orgin and so on......

    I will remove the name Tschötschen from my research. I agree with you- it is not similar to Zschetschingck. Thanks again for all your help and comments.
