Meaning of the name Beucke

I am looking for the meaning my my last name which is Beucke. I believe that in Dutch it means birch tree.

Hello Garry,

"beucke" was meaning in German (and I guess in Dutch as well) "beech tree". Your forfather was the guy who had his dwelling close to a significant beech tree.

Hi Garry,

my great-grandmother's name was Beuke. She and her ancestors came from Sümmern (Iserlohn or Menden) in Germany near Dortmund in the Sauerland.
Do you know any connections in this direction?
