    I wonder if the groom's father is identical or related in some way to your Carl Masheimer. The groom might be a son of a possilbe first marriage. Just a guess!

    Yeah...that's the only thing I can think of....church records will be the only thing to solve that. Then again, this record shows Carl dead in 1905 and I think he was the witness on the civil registry record for the illegitimate Gustav born 1905 and killed in WWII. I guess this was December. If anything this might also indicate the elder Carl's year of death. I'm going to the death records now.

    Guten Tag Willi,


    Not sure what your opinion is, but based on Wilhelm's birth record I am guessing that Martha is likely Carl's sister. I have added Martha and the Bethel's to my tree. I am still stumped by the Carl married to Henriette Bott. I cannot wait for the church records to come onto Archion so I can figure it out. I have been told that I can write the central church archives, but it seems that I will need at least the years of occurrence for them to look for the records. Interestingly, I recently did a search of the Masheimer name on Facebook and located people living in the same area in Poland as well as around Berlin (where the Gtustav killed in WWII had moved to).


    I recently wrote the WAST and requested the military records of both Gustav's. Unfortunately, they will not give me the records of the Gustav killed in 1942 because I am not a direct descendant and do not have his family's permission. They were kind enough to tell me that the records of the Gustav wounded in WWI were destroyed in Berlin during 1945.

    Thanks again for a another gem. I know that their church was Schonsee, which was also at one point in Gollub (obviously same area). Martha appears to be the elder Carl's sister, so I assume their mother was Katharina. This is the first time I have encountered this spelling of their name. If Archion ever gets this area digitized I will match everything up.
