Hi Ben
The only places where you can find some information about these men in the war are the WASt
or if they were missed even after the war, the DRK Suchdienst (German Red Cross).
But before you can ask for information there, you need to know at least the dates and place of birth of these men.
https://www.dd-wast.de/de/antr…ge-nach-einer-person.html
https://www.drk-suchdienst.de/…ormular-zweiter-weltkrieg
You could also search in the Vermisstenbildliste (list with photos of the missing soldiers)
but you need to know either their Feldpostnummer or which regiment they belonged to.

If they didn't survive the war you can probably find their wargraves here:

Do you have photos of this men wearing uniforms of the German Army?

Hi Ben
I have just found a Ralph Maurice, born in Magdeburg and a Ralph Max, born in Lübeck, who both fought in the First World War.
Important to know: The links which i mentioned in my first answer are only for the WWII not for researches concerning WWI!
http://des.genealogy.net/eingabe-verlustlisten/search/index
Ralph Maurice, born in Magdeburg, died in the First World War, some time before the 19th October 1916.
Ralph Max, born 02.02.?? in Lübeck, was first missed and then it was known that he was in captivity.
On another list of losses his date of birth is given with the 02.01.1898 in Lübeck.
Unfortunately I couldn't find him on the ICRC Online Archives for Prisoner of War Records.
I could only find a Rahlf Max, born 05.02.1897 in Jevers, but he was missed since 1915
and Ralph Max was missed since 1916 oder 1917 and they were not in the same regiment.

I finally found him: Ralph Max Friedrich Johannes, born 02.01.1898,
Frau Johanna Ralph, Georgstr. 12, Lübeck (maybe his mother)
In captivity since 10/4/17 in Arras, France

Hi again and thank you again for this info. I assumed Maurice would be my great, great, great grandfather's brother but now think he's likely to be his nephew. How old were people allowed to fight until in the German army at the time?
Is there any way I could get more info on either of these, such as birthdates?
Ben
Hi Ben
Ralph Maurice, place of birth Magdeburg, died before the 19th October 1916.
For him you can order a death certificate at the Standesamt (or Archives) of Magedburg.
Ralph Max Friedrich Johannes, place of birth Lübeck, date of birth 02.01.1898.
For him you can order a birth certificate at the Standesamt (or Archives) of Lübeck.
Johanna Ralph, Georgstr. 12, Lübeck was maybe his mother (or another relative).
He was in captivity since 10/4/17 in Arras, France. (I think he was a POW of the British Army.)
Rahlf Max, place of birth Jevers, date of birth 05.02.1897.
For him you can order a birth certificate at the Standesamt in Jevers (or which Archives?)
You can also look at the details in the links I gave you in my answer of the 15 August 2015.
These are the sources where I have found the places and dates of birth of these three men.

Unfortunately I can't find Maurice Ralph in one of this databases:

Hi Svenja,
sorry for the late reply, I've been very busy lately.
if I ordered the death certificates for Maurice and Max what info would it share with me? Would it have parents/next of kin details and date of birth? Also, do you have a link that I can order directly from which will be in English?
thank you for all this information.
Ben
Hi Ben
I don't know the address, website or email you should write to, I even don't know to which place you should write to.
I don't know if this death certificates still are at the registry office or if they are already in the State Archives.
But I remember that someone other gave you the link in your other thread if its not in this thread here.
Death records should contain, date and place of birth, date and place of death and the names of parents.
If the death occured as soldier in the WWI it often also contains his regiment and company,
if he died in a Lazarett (Military Hospital) also the name or place of this Lazarett.
