    Can you help with this above? There are probably errors in our guess, especially with the name on the 3rd line.


    If Spirensis refers to Speyer, FamilySearch has a family named Rebmann on the Speyer film, which is found in Das Telefonbuch, but Repmang and Repmaus are not found there at all.

    it is nicolai Repmans, the genitive form of nominative Nicolaus Repman. Repman is an occupation name, a compositum of Rebe and Mann (vine and man), meaning vintner/winegrower. Todays Rebmann and former Repman are meaning the same.

    Many thanks to all for your help.


    Our cousin believes that "buchenfeld franco" indicates that Buchenfeld would be located in a place under French administration in 1702. He also found a street "Im Buchenfeld, 66687 Wadern-Löstertal, Saarland. Does anyone know where the borders were then? Could it possibly include Alsace-Lorraine and was translated to Champ d'hêtre in French? There's not much on the subject on Google.
