I'm trying to identify the ancestors of Johann Peter Cauble, Sr., born about 1738, in Sinsheim, Germany. At least I think he was born in Sinsheim. I also think he immigrated to the United States in 1753, going to Pennsylvania first and then on to the state of North Carolina. He married Anna Margaret Heist in 1760 in the U.S. and died in 1813 in North Carolina. I have found several Kobel/Cobble names in Germany, but none seem to fit Johann Peter's genealogy. Can anyone assist? Thank you. Karen

What is your source for Sinsheim?

Family legend lists Johann Peter Kobel from Simsheim. I have found other Kobels from the Bavaria region as well. So I'm not real sure Simsheim, or even Baden-Wurttemberg is the correct area.

On familysearch.org I found the names Köbel and Kübel in Sinzheim, but no Peter in that time frame.

This Johann Peter is difficult. I'm just not sure where to start. He was married to Anne Margaret(?) Heist in 1760 in either the state of Pennsylvania or the State of North Carolina. I may be at a dead end.
